The Alfa Romeo Cub of South Africa has been in continuous existence since 1973, although
it had operated between 1960 and 1968.
Due to political pressure, Alfa Romeo withdrew
form South Africa during the period 1985 to 1993, yet, the enthusiasm never dwindled.
It
currently has some 230 members with a balanced representation of both Classic and
Modern Alfa Romeos.
The club is a founder member of, and affiliated to, the South
African Motor Club Association (SAMCA), under whose auspices, activities fall.
Through
SAMCA, a group insurance scheme is available with very competitive rates. Only active
members of at least six months standing, are eligible.
The club meets on the fourth
Wednesday of every month at a suitable venue (currently-Fairmount Bowling Club) for
the monthly Noggin.Other organised events include Track days, Skidpan days, Gymkhanas,
Quizzes, Breakfast runs, Photographic competitions, Guest speakers at Noggins, and
of course the “Gala” event is the annual Concours held early September each year.

Numerous members are very active in Racing and Rallying,and also belong
to Trofeo Racing Club,and, South African Regularity Rally Association (SARRA)
Access
to spares and technical information is available via club members and recommended
service providers. A data-base on all models within the club is maintained,allowing
members access to others
owning the same model.
Alfa regalia including shirts, caps, badges and numerous other items are on sale
at meetings.
